IMAGINARY RUN There's a fork in the road Your foot is to the floor You can't find an answer But it's what your headin' for Hidden in a mystery Your spirit left behind Deep down in the valley The road begins to wind And if you see some headlights Shining in your mirror It's only a reflection Now it's getting near So carry on in silence Knowing what you've done Imaginary vision Imaginary run Try to look beyond the edge You think that you have got Laughing as you look inside Faith in your blind spot There's no kind of justice Driving through the night In a name of mercy You're hoping that you're right And if you see some headlights Shining in your mirror It's only a reflection Now it's getting near So carry on in silence Knowing what you've done Imaginary vision Imaginary run

TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE Waiting for the time each day That stretches out its hand But you still can't open up to start Deep inside you feel it Sinking like the sand In the hourglass you call a heart Too many places, Too many faces Changes I have seen Too many words Too many I've heard Goodbyes in between Too many signs, Too many times Tomorrow waits Too many lies, Too many tries Too little, too late You say you've gone the distance Knowing who you are A million tiny screens agree Once you tasted something real But let it go unknown Saying now you'd give it all to me

Black Crow 02:39
BLACK CROW Black crow watching still Round head tilted low Looking grey and weather worn Marching in a row Fly black crow fly How straight you fly so high Fly black crow fly Far down below I try In dawns waking call The silence of unease Whistling with the daily mail The wind through broken trees Up above all common ground Rhyme or reason might be But today is not like most You show the way, but follow me

Rockin' Bill 04:26
ROCKIN' BILL Living in a two room walk up The hour hotel across the lot Making plans to hit the big time Sometimes I wonder what you got As we talked I heard the bed springs And a buzzing deep and low When I thought I heard some moaning, That's when I asked, if I should go Did you make it to that big stage? Did you rock it out once more? Did you ever do the bad thing? To try and even up the score Well I never got to ask you Guess I likely never will Was she ready when you got home? Was she ready, ready for you Rockin' Bill? You said, it didn't matter She wasn't going anywhere So we stepped down to the tavern And we talked it over there To pay for your rock show You'd need ID and a flight or two Down to the sunny islands A couple keys would do Could be you had the answer Way back in eighty-two It sounded kind of desperate But that's what it's come down to I passed on the offer Plain to see that it couldn't wait It was time to untie your lady So she could work the bar at eight

BEHIND A WALL There are times I think back to the day When the all the chances were in everything we played Things we saw and did and times we got it right Driving by that wall on a cold winter night We had some good times out there on the road Before the stage was bare the lights had grown cold No five star fancy hotels getting up at noon Parties after show time that came and went too soon It hardly seemed like much guess that wasn't right Smiling front row girls who held the torch each night That ghostly hour tearing down the band Empty bars, jazz clubs and one night stands Well it makes me think of you to think of what I missed I've found a quiet comfort and I found it just in this Oh, oh that distant call Coming from a city behind a wall Oh, oh you found it too On another road we had nothing to loose Sometimes at night I hear it going on Another story in that same old song Well I'll tell you what I think every time they hurry past Something we both know ain't ever going to last It's really got to be the strangest thing to do Drifting to an old place, discover something new It won't be long now you're leaving me behind All those things you said still play within my mind On a weekend tour in the neighbourhood Or a backstage room with a song that felt so good Oh, oh that distant call Coming from a city behind a wall Oh, oh you found it too On another road we had nothing to loose

THE NIGHT IS LONG You and I, we travel on Wings of steel and feet like stone In the light all we pass Hides in fields overgrown And oh, the night is long Yeah the night is long Take me back sometimes somehow Thinking we're the same An endless chain of I don't knows And the sun sets once again And oh, the night is long Yeah the night is long Feather light I want to be Floating on a memory But instead I walk a line Of dusty roads and crimson signs Ride the moon, count the stars It's all we can do It's always such a simple thought To stop and say we knew And oh, the night is long Yeah the night is long ...

RUN, BROTHER RUN Smoking on a hill in a parking lot Jamming easy down in Mary Fix park Laughing through those good old school days So many times who could ever say? Suddenly there was nothing you could do Lying there was the other half of you Not a word was said by that satin bed Like a toast to the demons in your head Run, brother run There's no peace when it's done Run, brother run And at last you're the only one Back on home ground in Miami FLA Working deals that seemed to go your way Brown bag cruising with that top way down It went so smooth no bottom could be found Then came a girl, she was the hungry kind It wasn't long before she held your mind So many reasons you said, I do And as she walked away she took the rest of you A kind of freedom came with family dues Taking care of them, those lonesome blues You saw no blame in what you had to do But each night the silence talked to you Cheques were bouncing across the boulevard Moving fast and landing too hard And all the while it was looking straight at you One last drink and the bottle killed you too Run, brother run There's no peace when it's done Run, brother run There's no peace when the day is done Run, brother run … And at last you're the only one

No Paradise 03:06
NO PARADISE All around the ego like a one man show Digging all the answers to the questions they don't know Five hours later the band's still at the bar Facing off and drinking, now who´s the superstar? Talking to the owner, his blues do unfold Playing snakes and ladders with the one´s He´s bought and sold None of them had noticed out back and down the hall Something smelled real funny It was written on the toilet wall No paradise, created ... All the night long sessions with the hand-chosen few Their image iron-clad, no one to answer to Pseudo sounding Bird shit and lots of other trash Oozing inspiration or was it just the hash? There are those who light the fire And those who fan the flame The only thing that's constant is how you get the fame Some they sit so pretty and others stand too tall Then there are the ones Coming up from down the hall Guess what's been written on the toilet wall? No paradise, created ... Where it is or where it's at, is useless in the end Hard to believe what they write, the stuff that they defend All the while it's been written, not a word was ever read Back to were it started, it's ended in their heads And on the toilet wall . . . No paradise, created ...

LIKE A CHEROKEE A still life picture that moves within the frame Brings to life a smile that speaks a name Alluring eyes out beyond the rain Barely seen they disappear again Who knows if it's ever going to last Gazing through the coloured glass Calling from somewhere you've never been Like a Cherokee, laughing in your dream The empty shells that gather on the shore Tell the secrets of what they are no more A lover's whisper like footprints in the dark Barely seen they blend into your heart Who knows if it's ever going to last Gazing through the coloured glass Calling from somewhere you've never been Like a Cherokee, laughing in your dream

Heading Back 03:34
HEADING BACK Maybe it's the winter rain Falling in my eyes Or the crescent moon Slicing through the sky Feeling kind of sleepy Sometimes I'd like to hide But what else am I gonna do Always heading back to you But what else am I gonna do this time Maybe it's a quiet hour Not knowing what to do Bothered by the feeling There's something I might loose Restless as the painted wind Just before a storm But what else am I gonna do Always heading back to you But what else am I gonna do this time Can't deny, I wonder why I count at all Things that seem new to me Have all been there before Never see you coming 'Til you're at my door But what else am I gonna do Always heading back to you What else am I gonna do this time Maybe it's a back street game That passes in a glance Or the midnight mind Of a long forgotten chance Moving kind of slowly When the clock has stopped But what else am I gonna do Always heading back to you What else am I gonna do with time

SOMETIMES A FISH A dead man said to me, you got a front row seat Sit back enjoy the show, nowhere you can go Sit back enjoy the show No mirrors, no strings attached, a simple slight of hand There and then it's not, What was, is soon forgot There and then it's not And as I walk away Sometimes a fish is sighing Sometimes a fish is crying Sometimes a fish is dying Sometimes a fish If the joker misses cue that fish is laughing too I sit, I stop and stare, I can't believe my eyes Swallow all their pride, dollars in their eyes They swallow all their pride It's rehearsed carefully, a hero every night Nothing is for free, a fish might not agree Nothing is for free And as I walk away Sometimes a fish is sighing Sometimes a fish is crying Sometimes a fish is buying Sometimes a fish If the joker misses cue that fish is laughing too There's lots of fancy talk with nothin' being said Written on the wall the wise man's lonely call Written on the wall This can't be honesty, but who am I to say Truth is something less, best you don't confess The truth is something less And as I walk away Sometimes a fish is sighing Sometimes a fish is crying Sometimes a fish is lying Sometimes a fish If the joker misses cue that fish is laughing too Casting a line to the sea Fishes as far as I see Casting a line to the sea Those fish are just like you and me

Getting Mad 03:49
GETTING MAD Gone are thirty-five years on the line Left all your drinking far behind Acting all crazy if you want to No one's gonna tell you what to do Bought a farmhouse in the sticks Living with those country hicks Can you feel it? Getting mad You can see that you've been had Can you feel it? Getting mad Now you know you've been had The garden out back is growing fine It's spreading down the old grapevine Some folks don't take too kindly Out here there's just no privacy Suddenly a dozen cops Were waiting there like special ops The time had come to stake your claim And a farmer's word is as good as his name The bank has frozen payment due As the judge passes sentence down on you And the garden you worked hard for Is at the heart of a small town war

SUBURBAN SAFARI Man-made jungles far and wide Not a tree to climb in Household dust with every step Easy chairs to fry in No relief behind the doors Nervous sanctuary Mow the lawn, catch the cat Planning as you carry We're on safari Tracking down a dream Suburban safari It's the strangest thing I've seen Cardboard boxes, plastic bags Deep dish laundry curry All hung up and out to dry Eat it in a hurry Tip-toe by in secrecy Heading for the nursery Through the blinds the neighbours peek Happy anniversary! Down the road they're trading in Cottages for castles Interest doubles overnight Suburban hassles All aboard the weekend train Gather at the station Cheering on the local team Passing conversation

Is It Me? 02:55
IS IT ME Wake me by the track I'm the day you can't get back Take my body, squeeze my mind Take the love I leave behind Crystal heart so dark and pure I'm the one you're waiting for Someone in your history Is it you or is it me? Is it me, is it me You don't know Is it me, is it me Can't let go Is it me, is it me Up on the stair Is it me, is it me Who's just not there? Go too far and you can't see Everything you'd do with me In too close, it's only you Ask me now I'll tell you who

My Friends 02:58
MY FRIENDS As the rain plays again And I can see Waiting there are my friends My rainbow mind In pastel shades of blue Keeps roaming on Feeling the way that I do Golden is the field within my dream Just beyond the trees there lies a stream And as my friends float on by From times I thought I knew Now they come to carry me back home Colouring times circus view We touched the sky Each day that we passed through Those colours change I can't tell you why my friends And seasons rise On little steps that go goodbye Golden is the field within my dream Just beyond the trees there lies a stream And as my friends float on by From times I thought I knew Now they come to carry me back home Now they come to carry me back home Now they come to carry me home

about

If It Wasn't Yesterday I Could Have Sworn You Said Tomorrow has a distinctly eclectic vibe with shades of artists like Stephen Stills, Jim White, Seasick Steve, White Stripes or PJ Harvey.
There's also a hint of the great influence that the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and Frank Zappa have had on me.
Each song has a different history, a unique story and ultimately a special musical inspiration, creating a genre-spanning album.
